The Brady’s Brake works on all 6” single wheel trailer jacks with a 1,000 lb weight rating and a tongue weight of at least 15% of the total boat and trailer weight. This boat trailer parking brake is designed to provide reliable holding power for a boat trailer or trailer for boat in normal parking conditions.
The parking brake for trailer is not intended for use on exceedingly steep hills, where additional trailer safety brake system measures may be required to ensure complete stability.

When parking the trailer, always remember to leave your safety chains attached while securing the parking brake for the trailer. Do not disconnect them unless you are certain the parking brake trailer is firmly in position. - The brake works whether you are facing up or downhill.
- Start by rotating the trailer jack into the down position.
- Position the front side of the jack wheel towards downhill.
- Adjust the brake to fit under the jack wheel. Push the brake firmly with your foot towards uphill. This removes any play in the trailer jack and ensures a secure hold.
- Release the ball hitch and crank the jack until the trailer clears the ball, leaving the brake in place.

Lower the Trailer Jack
Rotate the trailer jack all the way down until it is ready to support the trailer and engage the trailer brake system. -
Set the Jack Wheel at the Right Angle
Swivel the boat trailer wheels so the front faces downhill. -
Set the Brake in Place
Move the trailer brake under the jack wheel. Press the brake with your foot toward the uphill side. This removes jack slack and chocks the trailer using the built-in trailer brake systems design. -
Unhitch with Confidence
Drop the ball hitch and crank the jack upward until the trailer clears the hitch-leaving the trailer brakes engaged and holding the trailer steady.

Engage Trailer Brake
Gently press against the trailer to ensure the brake system for trailer is fully engaged. -
Confirm Brake Hold
